How do I move Google Drive files to a Shared Drive?

Answer

If you want to move Google Drive files from your "My Drive" to a Shared Drive please follow the steps below:

1. Set up a new Shared Drive first if one does not exist already.

2. Open the Google Account you want to move files from. Click on Google Drive.

3. Select a file or folder you'd like to move. Right-click on it or select the stack of three dots in the menu.

4. Choose "Organize" > "Move."

4. Navigate to the Shared Drive you created to house the files. Choose "Move."

NOTE: The items you move to the shared drive will be removed from the original "My Drive" and moved to the Shared Drive you chose.

NOTE: There are limits to the amount of files one can move at once. You may choose multiple files or folders, but it Google gives you an error when you try to move them, simply choose fewer files to move at once.
