Can I use Microsoft OneDrive at Carthage?
Answer
OneDrive is Microsoft's cloud-based storage option, similar to Google Drive or iCloud.
OneDrive technically is included in the free Office 365 software provided to faculty, staff, and students at Carthage. However, it probably isn't a great idea to use for the following reasons:
- Library and Information Services staff have no ability to troubleshoot, support, or help users with their OneDrive files. We cannot see or access your files.
- The data doesn't get backed up at all and Carthage cannot guarantee that the files will not be deleted (we have no control over this). When someone leaves Carthage (graduates, transfers, etc.) users will no longer have access to that Microsoft account or its files.
Instead of OneDrive, please utilize your Carthage Google Drive storage.
