How do I fix a recorded video presented upside-down?

Answer

Sometimes when video is recorded on an iPad or iPhone, and uploaded to a PC, the video is presented upside-down.

If you have QuickTime Player on your computer, open the video, go to the "File" tqb, and scroll down to choose "Flip Vertical." Then export your newly flipped video to your desktop.

If you don't have QuickTime, you may also use Windows Movie Maker, a free software download for Windows devices. See this YouTube video on reversing upside-down recordings.

The rule of thumb is to record your videos horizontall with the "home" button on the right. Your videos should then not be recorded in the "upsidedown" mode when viewing videos on Windows-based computers.

If the above solutions don't work for you, please contact Mike Murphy, the Educational Media Producer at Carthage. You will be able to share your video with him via your Google Drive account, where he can flip it and send it back to you.
