What does it mean when Safari “cannot open the page, too many redirects”?
Answer
Sometimes a website redirects a link to another source, causing a problem for Safari browser users.
This can be remedied by altering the browser preferences:
- In Safari, choose "Preferences."
- Click the Privacy tab.
- Under the "Remove All Website Data" button, click "Details."
- Search for the name of the website you are trying to view. (For example, if you are being redirected while trying to access your Carthage Gmail, put "Google" or "Gmail" in the search box.
- Click "Remove."
- Quit Safari, and then reopen the browser.
You will also want to clear your browsing history, cookies, and cache if you are still having problems. In Safari, click "Preferences" > "Advanced" ?Remove All Website Data..." > "Remove Now."
